So folks, my house closes the end of the month and I am way behind packing up the shop. I had planned to try to sell as much as possible that I am not shipping to Nicaragua but I no longer have the time. On Sunday, September 24th, I will open my shop at noon (and no earlier). There is somewhere between 1200 and 2400 bf of misc hardwoods including walnut, cherry, maple, oak, hickory, ash as well as some specialty woods. There is a
1) Jet model JWBS-14CS bandsaw with several new blades and a riser block. First $425 or best offer over $200 at 1:30PM Sunday
2) An Incra tablesaw/router fence system First $350 or best offer over $150 at 1:30PM Sunday
3) A Delta lunchbox planer First $160 or best offer over $100 at 1:30PM Sunday
4) A Dunlap midi lathe (may or may not have a motor, still cleaning) First $40
5) A shortbed 6" jointer (this is a restoration project) First $125 or best offer over $80 at 1:30PM Sunday
6) Pallet Jack - First $180 or best offer over $100 at 1:30PM Sunday
7) Delta drum sander - This is free as it has had minor damage. I think it's repairable to someone that knows what they are doing and is interested

The items numbered above are available for the list price at any time from now until Sunday. Text me at 734-three three zero-9309. You can try to call but I generally do not answer phone numbers I don't recognize.

And a number of misc hand tools, power tools, planes, and assorted shop items that aren't strictly tools.

With the exception of the numbered items above, it's all available on a first come, first served, FREE basis (donations gratefully accepted but not required). The bottom line is that anything that is still left in the barn on Monday, 25 September, will end up in a dumpster headed for a landfill as the shop must be empty by the 28th of Sept.

Address is
10600 Ozga St
Romulus, MI 48174

Retiring to Nicaragua.

Warm 365/yr
Cost-of-living 50%-30% of the US
Easy to get back to the US
Health care, while not as ubiquitous as the US is just as good if not better where it is at a lot lower cost including drug costs.

Interesting. I've seen people do that on those house-hunting shows my wife loves to watch but have never know anyone who actually did it. Congratulations on retiring and I hope you'll keep in touch.

Hi, I'm new to this group and just started woodworking a few years ago. I'm interested in the lumber. Is there good time to come by and see it?

I am also interested in some of the lumber and would be happy to pay a reasonable price. Is there a time that I can come and look at it?
Thanks
Bill

I would also be interested in some of the wood. Will any of it be left on Sunday?

Thank You
Erik

Definitely plan on keeping in touch if only to make you guys drool over the old growth lumber I will have access to. I did a bit of a tour around their woodworking artisan area near Masetepe in June and was astounded at the 3' wide old growth lumber they were using for dining room table tops. Woodworking down there is going to be FUN  :s_biggrin

Donations gratefully accepted but I am not going to put a price on the lumber. I want it to go somewhere it will be used not to my neighbors fireplace pile or the land fill.
Time to see and get it is noon on Sunday.

With the exception of my son (who only wants some of the shorts), I am not giving anyone early access. It's the only way I can do it fairly and I owe many in this club a lot for the things that have occurred over the years.

Wish I could make it and check some of the stuff out, but it's great that you're opening it up like this to the forum members. It's nice to know that good people will put the tools and wood to work!

Best of luck on the move, and looking forward to some posts about your projects, and how your approach to woodworking changes, after the move. Should be interesting!

So, I seem to have misplaced my cell phone so, tomorrow, if any of you try to text/call, I may not answer unless I can figure out where I put it. If anyone sees this and feels like calling my number, 734-three three zero - 9309 just to see if I can find it when it rings, feel free. I'd have my wife do it but she is out of town until Sunday afternoon! :s_dunno

Thanks to all that showed up today to empty stuff out of my shop. I hope you all get good use of the stuff you took.

1) As at least two people asked, my Paypal email is jretief@brassdragon.org.

2) The Jet bandsaw and the shortbed jointer are both still in my shop. I truly do not want to scrap them so the best offer for each by 7PM Tuesday with a commitment to pick up NLT THU evening gets them.

That jointer is a Walker Turner and looked to be in pretty nice shape.Somebody will be very sad (besides me) not to have that one.

OK, had a couple of offers for $300 for the bandsaw. The earliest offer was from IndyBlue.

No joy yet on the jointer other than someone that will take it if no one else wants it to save it from the scrap yard.

Reminder to anyone sitting on the fence, deadline is 7PM tomorrow (Tue).

I would be happy to have a decent jointer.

Where are you located?

Jointer is gone and the bandsaw goes to IndyBlue assuming he picks it up by Thu evening.
