So my marking gauges are still in a box somewhere in the basement and the past two weeks I've needed one. I have been making do with my combo square and frustrated with the result I took a couple of hours to knock together a new marking gauge from a small piece of Koa and a random 5/8" Cocobolo pen blank along with a couple bits of brass from the junk drawer. Of course now that it's done I'm sure my other gauges will rise up in a fit of envy.
