I need a small amount of quartered or rift-sawn red oak veneer, but don't know of anyplace but Woodcraft that stocks veneer locally (and they don't have red oak). I wouldn't mind ordering online, but online merchants usually only offer an entire flitch or huge sheets that are way overkill for what I need.

PS - if anyone takes Rusty Nail up on that batch of red oak veneer he's offering, I'd happy pay for a couple of sheets of that as I saw some rift- or quarter-sawn material in that...

Thanks.

Steve,
I brought some to the meeting last night, but didn't pm to tell you. Maybe next Tuesday when I am out that way for the board meeting if you are in a hurry. Let me know.

Most likely I am going to get the veneer from Rusty Nail next week. We are trading information.

Steve.

Sorry, Steve - I got hung up at the last minute and couldn't make the meeting. I'll connect with you before the board mtg.

Thanks!!

I have had very good luck with http://www.veneersupplies.com/ I have built many drums using their veneers and they are excellent. Also they have a very good selection of small pieces and their shipping is reasonable.

Thanks. I've looked at their site for exotic species in the past, and they were usually large flitches. They do have smaller lots for the species I'm currently looking for. Still way more than I need, but an option still...

I use Certainly wood and b&b rare woods They'll sell you one sheet or 100 sheets, I especially like B&B, Dave goes way out of his way for his customers, Last week he went and pulled the burls I was looking at and checked each sheet for defects, That was over 30 sheets, Certainly wood usually has great deals, Both are a lot cheaper then woodcraft and the like, Just my 2 cents

Is that B&B Hardwoods in Whitmore lake, Nate?

If so, that's good to know...

No, their located in Colorado, I know you were looking for somewhere local but I have no knowledge of anywhere in Michigan unless you want paper backed veneer. Then oakwood veneer in Troy would be a good option, I've never used them but I have heard good about them,
