Ok so I am a little new to buying wood that’s not sold in the big box stores. I am trying to complete a few scroll saw projects that will require a dark wood like Walnut but I need it to be 1/4” Thick X 8”wide X 12” length (Wider or longer). I Cant find anything online about it. Is this uncommon? I was given a board that’s about 10” wide and was about 3’ long. I don’t have a planer or a band saw so cutting my self is not an option. Will local places in metro Detroit custom cut this or do you guys know of a place that stocks things like this? Also plywood and veneer wont work.

I would suggest calling Kencraft down in Toledo. I checked their website and they have 1/4" thick Walnut but the width's they show online are only 5-1/2 to 5-3/4" (they have other widths but nothing wider). They may have something wider in stock just not on their online store.

Might be worth the drive. They also offer a discount to SEMIWW members.

I might actually have just such a piece. I was practicing resawing on a piece of walnut just about that size. I'll look tomorrow but PM me your telephone number of email address and I'll call you if I have one.
