I have a plunge base on this router and have play on the lowered position. I am about 1/2 way down the shifts and have significant play side to side on the bit. I would estimate the play is 0.020" total. Is this repairable? Seems the shafts are pressed and swaged to the base.

What am I missing? Is this base repairable, or do I need to start over?

A picture would help, but I'd say they are not repairable. You'll probably end up finding a base on eBay if you want another one.

I have this same router and base. It is quite loose by design. the L/D ratio of the bushings is not correct so they open the bore of the bushings so the shafts will not "window lock". If one had access to a machine shop they could press out the old bushings and try to make new ones with smaller bores or even different material (composite).

I was wondering if that was. Case, but I cannot find a way to disassemble. I found a "new" one for a rash able price, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Then I'll have one to play with

I used this router a coupl months back with the mortise jig many of us built with no issues, but this go round, the width is out of control.

Tried to get some pictures as Jat suggested, but nothing shows the play. Mi would estimate the play at the end of the bit to be near 1/16"
