Good afternoon all, I am beginning a small countertop project for my kitchen and will be using soft maple for the top. I Have really liked the looks of using dye on this wood and my other half wants the top to be grey. My question would be has anyone purchased a grey dye that they liked or was it easier to achieve the color you wanted by mixing your own grey?

Did you see the ad in the inside back cover of Popular Woodworking magazine this month ("June") for Varathane Weathered Wood Accelerator? I have not tried this product. "Do it yourself in minutes." "Reacts with the tannins in bare wood," it says. Looks like grey to me. Varathane.com
